This Armand Marseille doll was made in 1897
and the owner decided to have an outfit of this era. The dress is made
of a very lightweight green satin and is trimmed with a fine white cotton
lace. It features a bloused top with lace trimmed bretelles (shoulder
frills). The top of each sleeve is very full and it has a long
tight cuff trimmed with lace.
The owner wanted to leave the wig as it
was because it was made from her grandmother's hair so to add a bit more
style and width to the head it was decided to give the doll a bonnet in a
matching fabric.
