Outfits (Scottish Outfit) |
At the end of the 1940's and beginning of the
1950's a lot of the producers of British hard plastic dolls (Pedigree,
Rosebud, Roddy etc) featured a doll in Scottish outfit. I feel it may
have been due to Prince Charles wearing something similar when he was young. This outfit consists of a white cotton shirt with lace trim at the neck and wrists, a black velvet waistcoat with gold braid trim, tartan kilt with finishing touches of a black velvet tamo'shanter and a leather and fur sporran. The main problem with this outfit is trying to find a tartan with a check of the right size for this doll. I managed to find a tartan of the correct size for this 20" doll but finding a tartan for a 12" doll was EXCEEDINGLY difficult. |
