DOLL WITH SMASHED FACE

Originally this doll had a broken neck but by the time Parcel Force delivered it the head was in 42 pieces.  Something had to be done to restore the doll's head and Parcel Force would not pay any compensation.  It is not widely known that the current Royal Mail Standard Parcels service (formally known as Parcel Force) compensation does NOT cover porcelain, glass or antiques.

It took many days to piece this jigsaw puzzle back together and reinforce from inside.  After reassembly the head needed resurfacing and a repaint but we think it was worth it.
