WASHED TEDDY
If there was any uncertainty then I think the picture on the left proves that a mohair teddy stuffed with wood shavings cannot be put in the washing machine. His arms completely disappeared and were replaced with bits of a stuffed sock but so much else was missing that it was difficult to know where to start. I finally managed to trace a bit of the original fur fabric and matched it to some new mohair. I made a new skin from the new fur and replaced his eyes with new glass ones. I am told by his owner that it is just like turning back time and Teddy's youthful looks have been restored to their former glory. |
