This
repair is especially needed in porcelain dolls which have composite or
paper-mache bodies. The elastic stringing of the limbs and the hooks
on the tops of the limbs can, over the years, wear holes in the sockets
which get worse as the years go by.
The work involves repairing the holes and reinforcing the socket, giving the doll a whole new lease of life.
